Laura at Laura's Paris Cooking Notebook is a dynamic individual. Her blog is an amazing assortment of subjects, ranging from life to cooking. I so admire her for her talents and her intellect.
Laura bestowed an award onto me. It's called the Honest Scrap award. I have to apologize for not playing the rules of the game, however, I would still like to pass the award onto everyone.
All you have to do is list 10 truths about yourself.
Here are my 10 truths:
1. I am impatient. I am trying to learn how to become more patient, however, this is not a strong suit of mine.
2. I am a perfectionist. Everything must be just so, or I cannot rest until it is.
3. I dream of having my own home decorating shoppe one day.
4. I tire of things easily and always feel compelled to keep moving things around to change the look of the environment.
5. I love to run. I like the feeling of pushing myself to just one more mile.
6. I'm obsessive about what I eat. I always have to think about everything before I put it in my mouth. I worry about how many calories it contains, if it's kosher, etc, etc...
7. I never feel smart enough. I am my own worst critic. I always feel like I'm capable of more, just not smart enough to go out and get it (whatever that may be).
8. I enjoy writing. It's an outlet for my thoughts and emotions.
9. I have a special place in my heart for animals. I adore them. In fact, I often say that when I leave this world for the next, I want to ask G-d if He will allow me to be a guardian angel over all animals. I want to protect them all from harm, loneliness, and neglect.
10. I have always been and will always be in love with my husband. He is my soul-mate and my inspiration for keeping me going, when sometimes, I just plain don't want to.
There you have it. These truths came from my heart, so now you all know how neurotic I really can be, but who isn't, right?
Tomorrow is Nick's birthday, and I still have not found the perfect gift, which makes me impatient and neurotic. Looks like I need to go console myself with a long run, and careful consideration about what to eat. ( Ha, ha). Well, at least I still have a sense of humor, amongst all my idiosyncrasies.

Melissa :-)

You're not neurotic. You're just human like the rest of us. We have very similar personalities except for the food thing. I say this as I sit here with my lunch of popcorn and a Pepsi!

Cathie

Oh Melissa you are too modest, you are also a very talented person. But I guess the human thing is not to really brag about ourselves. It is great that you run. Hey you are up for a shout out on my happy birthday month day 12.
